The Centennial Bridge stretches over the Missouri River connecting Leavenworth, Kansas and Platte County, Missouri. The two-span, 2,571 foot long arch bridge connects Kansas 92 and Missouri Route 92 highways. The massive structure was constructed in 1955, a year after Leavenworth celebrated its centennial as the first city incorporated in Kansas.
Plans are in the works to replace this heavy commuter route allowing for more user friendly travel, including bike and pedestrian pathways. So while you still can... step back and view the bridge from either bank. Notice the two arches and how they begin to create a visual heart. Let your mind complete the shape reminding all of us how this bridge has connected friends and family for more than 60 years.
Thank you Robert H. for sharing your vision with us and inspiring our team to create this amazing design! This ones on us!
